Who is responsible and how to contact us
SHOP 4 SHOES LIMITED is responsible for personal information handled through shop4shoess.com. Contact the Privacy Contact at [email protected] or at the UK address below for access, corrections, consent choices or a complaint. This notice covers visitors and customers in the UK and Canada, including information transferred internationally.
Information and purposes
- Enquiries and repair requests: the name, email, telephone number and message or service details you choose to provide, used to answer and manage your request.
- Shopping and orders: chosen products, cart identifiers, and any name, billing/delivery address, contact and order details supplied to checkout, used to provide the cart, arrange a valid order, delivery, returns and support. The checkout is currently in test mode; use fictional test details and never send real card details through our forms.
- Security and site delivery: IP address, request time, requested page, device/browser information, error and security records, used to serve pages, prevent abuse, protect forms and investigate faults.
- Optional updates: your email, selected interests and a record of your explicit subscription choice, used only for the updates requested.
Required fields are marked on each form. Without the information needed to answer a request or fulfil an order, that service may not be possible. Do not send identity documents, medical details or payment-card security data. No advertising pixel, Microsoft UET, Clarity or Google Analytics tag is currently installed in the website code.
Legal grounds and consent
For UK data protection purposes, we use information to take requested pre-contract steps and perform a contract; to meet legal accounting or consumer obligations; and for our legitimate interests in proportionate security, fraud prevention, support and legal claims, balanced against your rights. Optional email marketing relies on consent. We do not treat a general enquiry, purchase or abandoned cart as permission to send promotional emails.
For Canadian customers, we explain the information, recipients and purposes so consent is meaningful where required. Optional marketing is a separate, unchecked choice and is not a condition of shopping. You may withdraw consent, subject to lawful retention and necessary contractual processing, by contacting us. New optional purposes require fresh consent where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information or use it for automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.
Providers, delivery and international transfers
Information is made available only as needed to hosting and business-email providers (Spaceship/Spacemail), Cloudflare for security and content delivery, Snipcart for the shopping cart/checkout, an enabled payment provider for payment, and delivery or customs-service providers to deliver a valid order. Authorised personnel and professional advisers may access relevant records; disclosure to authorities occurs when legally required. We do not name or guarantee a specific carrier.
Google Fonts and the cdnjs font/icon service receive technical connection information when your browser requests their resources. Provider privacy information is available from Spaceship, Cloudflare, Snipcart privacy contact and Google.
We operate from the UK. Information from Canada is processed outside your province and outside Canada, including by providers with international infrastructure; depending on the provider, processing may occur in the UK, Canada, the US or other service locations. Foreign authorities may have lawful access under their laws. We remain accountable for information entrusted to processors and must apply appropriate contractual, security and transfer safeguards, including an adequacy basis or approved UK transfer terms where required. Contact us to request details of the countries, providers and safeguards relevant to your information. This notice is not a waiver of Canadian rights.
Retention and protection
We retain information only as long as necessary for the stated purpose and legal obligations. Routine enquiries should be removed or anonymised within 12 months after resolution unless a continuing relationship, dispute or legal requirement justifies longer retention. Accepted-order and accounting records may need to be kept for six years after the relevant accounting period under UK requirements. Marketing details are kept until withdrawal or loss of a valid purpose; a minimal suppression and consent record may be kept to honour an opt-out and demonstrate compliance. Provider logs and backups follow their applicable retention cycles and legal holds.
HTTPS, protected administrative access and form security controls reduce risk. Access should be limited to people and providers who need it. No system is absolutely secure. A personal-data incident will be assessed and reported to affected individuals and regulators when required by applicable law.
Your rights and complaints
Subject to applicable law and its exceptions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to relevant processing, and withdraw consent. We may request proportionate verification of identity. UK requests are normally answered within one month; Canadian access requests normally within 30 days, with any permitted extension explained. We explain lawful refusals and complaint routes rather than promising an unconditional deletion right.
Canadian residents may challenge our practices and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the competent provincial privacy authority, including Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information, where applicable. UK residents may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. You may contact the regulator without first obtaining our permission.
Marketing, cookies and updates
Subscription forms identify SHOP 4 SHOES LIMITED and our contact address, describe the requested emails, and require an affirmative choice. You can also unsubscribe by emailing [email protected]. Service replies do not automatically enrol you.
See the Cookie Policy for necessary storage, separate analytics/advertising preferences and how to change or withdraw those choices. The service is intended for people able to enter a purchase contract; we do not knowingly seek children's personal information for marketing. We date updates to this notice and explain material changes before new processing, obtaining consent where needed.
